About the role
We are looking for a Senior Liferay Developer to design, build and maintain enterprise customer and partner portals on Liferay DXP. You will own technical delivery across portal modules, integrations and custom components, working with solution architects, UI/UX designers and client stakeholders on large-scale, client-facing portal programmes.

Key responsibilities
- Design and develop portlets, OSGi modules, themes, fragments and custom components on Liferay DXP 7.x.
- Build integrations with backend systems via REST/SOAP APIs, including CRM, ERP, billing and OSS/BSS platforms.
- Implement SSO using SAML, OAuth2 and OpenID Connect, role-based access control and multi-tenant site structures.
- Translate business requirements and wireframes into scalable, secure technical solutions.
- Lead code reviews, enforce coding standards and mentor junior developers.
- Own performance tuning, caching strategy, clustering and production troubleshooting.
- Manage Liferay upgrades, patching and environment configuration across development, UAT and production.
- Contribute to estimation, technical documentation and sprint planning.

Required skills and experience
- 6+ years of Java/J2EE development, with 4+ years of hands-on Liferay experience on DXP 7.2 or later.
- Strong knowledge of OSGi, Service Builder, MVC/Spring portlets, Liferay APIs and workflow.
- Front-end skills in JSP, FreeMarker, JavaScript, React/Clay, Liferay themes and fragments.
- Database experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle, and search experience with Elasticsearch or Solr.
- Build and deployment experience with Gradle/Maven, Git, Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools, and Docker.
- Experience with Tomcat/JBoss application servers and familiarity with AWS or Azure deployment.
- Solid understanding of security best practices and OWASP.

Preferred skills
- Liferay certification as a DXP Developer or Administrator.
- Experience with Liferay Cloud, SaaS or PaaS.
- Experience with headless APIs, GraphQL, Objects and low-code features in DXP 7.4 or later.
- Domain exposure to telecom, BFSI or B2B partner portals.
- Agile delivery experience with distributed, client-facing teams.

- Confidence in client design reviews and technical discussions.

Education
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
